Court satisfies petition of arrested bloggers' lawyers

Two police officers of Sabayel district police gave testimony. They said they were on duty at 39th police unit of Sabayel district on that day and no one from the defendants was brought to the police office.

Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade said they went to the 39th police unit to complain about those who beat them.

Then persons, who were together with them on that day at the restaurant also gave testimony. The participant of scuffle said that the persons, known in the investigative materials as aggrieved men, insulted and beat Emin Milli.

Lawyers of the defendants Elton Guliyev and Isakhan Ashurov gave petition to the court and asked to invite expert doctor who examined the scuffle participants to the court.

The judge satisfied their petition. Then lawyers submitted photos of Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizadeh after the scuffle.

The hearing will be continued on Oct. 7.

Bloggers Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade were detained after an incident that took place in 'Lebanese' restaurant in Azerbaijan’s capital on July 8.

They faced charges under Articles 127.2.3 (inflicting minor bodily harm) and 221.2.1 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code.
