Penalty imposed on center for wildlife rehabilitation in Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani Ecological and Natural Resources Ministry has brought a disciplinary action against the Center of Wildlife Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Clinic for major violations in activities.
Relevant bodies of the ministry monitored the clinic. Monitoring revealed that the permanent examination of animals and work on increase of the species in a semi-closed environment, as well as their return to nature is not organized at the appropriate level, the ministry said in a statement.

The first in South Caucasus Center of Wildlife Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Clinic under the  Altiagaj National Park was established in 2006.

Four hares, three wolves, two deers, jackal, one species of fox, maral, gazelle, bear, falcon, Mediterranean eagle, pheasant, Egyptian vulture, eagle, white-haired neck, swan, as well as two quails and hairy-legged buzzards were given to the clinic in 2008.

Two specimens of deer and wolves, four hare, one bear and the Egyptian vulture were taken to the clinic in 2009 and are kept here now.
