Amendments to law on freedom of faith not contradict religion and belief: Caucasus Mulims Clerical Office head

14 July 2009 [14:44] - TODAY.AZ
“The law on freedom of faith paves a way for future activity of the persons educated abroad under auspices of the Caucasian Muslims Clerical Office and Islamic University."
Amendments must be interpreted in a right way. It does not concern those who study abroad to improve their religious education”, said Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Clerical Office Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said at a press conference.

Amendments to the Law on freedom of Religion connected with restrictions on the conduct of religious rites in Azerbaijan by persons who have received religious education abroad were accepted ambiguously, he said.

He said there was some radicalism in the society, which creates difficulties for the government. The amendments to the Law on Freedom of Religion are not against the religion or belief.
