Imprisoned editor-in-chief of Azadlyg newspaper complains about cold in prison

Yesterday wife of editor-in-chief of Azadlyg newspaper Ganimat Zahid Ayanda Mursalova met him in correctional facility No 17, reports Day.Az with reference to Mediforum website.
According to Mursalova, the editor-in-chief has no problems, he just complains about cold in prison.

"Ganimat Zahid told me he spends time reading English books and asked for new editions. He is anxious about possible provocation against his brother (Mirza Sakit) in prison", noted Mursalova.

Notably, on March 7 of 2008 the Yasamal district court of Baku, chaired by judge Sudaba Mamedova passed a verdict on editor-in-chief of Azadlyg newspaper Ganimat Zahid and Baku resident Vusal Hasanov.

Under the verdict, Ganimat Zahid was found guilty in hooliganism and sentenced to 4 years in prison, Vusal Hasanov to 1.5 years. The Baku Appellate Court and Supreme Court upheld the decision of the first instance court.
