Avian flu virus not revealed in Azerbaijan

The results of avian flu monitoring, held by the state veterinary service under the Azerbaijan Agriculture Ministry on December 15, was revealed, said spokesman for the state veterinary service Yolchu Khanveli.

He said during the monitoring the blood samples and pathogenic materials were taken from 25 wild birds and 2982 poultry. The analysis of samples did not reveal avian flue.

"Considering possible penetration of avian flu to Azerbaijan via migrating birds, the state veterinary service continues monitoring and the next monitoring will start on January 12", said Khanveli.

It should be noted that the monitoring was held in the Absheron peninsula, Devechi, Salyan region, Gyzylaghaj reserve of the Lenkoran region and so on.
