Summit of Turkic states to be held in Baku

There is a plan to hold a number of events to promote strengthening and deepening of fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, said Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic at a press conference today.

He noted that the Turkish embassy will strive for opening of Ataturk's memorial in Baku in 2009.

"The summit of Turkic states will be held in Baku in 2009. An event of the parliamentary assembly of Turkic states", said he.

The ambassador announced that there is a plan to open the park of friendship between Azerbaijan and Turkey in March.

He said there is also a plan to open Turkey's consulate general in Ganja in 2009.
