Speaker of Georgian parliament visits Azerbaijani populated region of Georgia

Speaker of the Georgian parliament promised to study problems of Azerbaijanis.
Chairman of the Georgian parliament David Bakradze visited the Azerbaijani populated region Kvemo Kartli on December 24.

In Algeti village he met with local Azerbaijani population.

The speaker promised to the villagers to settle the problem with transport. They say they are unable to get to the regional center Marneuli as municipal bus does not go there and they have to pay for private microbuses, which are too expensive.

Bakradze promised that a bus will be provided for the village with transport fee to be 50 tetri (up to 35 cents).

He also promised that the construction of a highway from Marneuli to the Red Bridge on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border.

The speaker also met with residents of the Shaomyan village and 117 families of refugees from South Ossetia, settled there. He voiced hope they will soon return home.
