Fire extinguished in Nizami Ditrict - UPDATED

The fire erupted in the building in Nizami District where the gas explosion took 4 lives last week.

Fire erupted in the building has been extinguished, according to ANS PRESS Firefighting Service informed ANS that the accident was caused by a short circuit in a TV set. No injuries are reported.

Nizami District Police Department informed ANS PRESS that the fire occurred at about 11.30 am today. Firefighters and employees of the Emergency Situations Ministry arrived at the scene. The causes to the incident are not known yet.

Residents of the building, however, complain that their gas supply had been stopped since the day explosion occurred.

Heavy explosion rocked the building on December 13. Blast happened in an apartment of the building in 34, Nakhchivanski street, Nizami District at about 8 am. As the result, three upper floors of the 5-storeyed building collapsed. 3 were killed and 6 injured as the result of the blast considered to be caused by gas leakage.
