Sumgayitelektrikshebeke resumes electricity supply to Azersu

19 December 2008 [10:40] - TODAY.AZ
The supply of electricity by Sumgayitelektrikshebeke to Azersu, cut on December 18 due to failure to pay debts, has been resumed, said spokesman for Sumgayitelektriksheveke Anar Guliyev.
He said the electricity supply was restored at 17:00 yesterday.

"Azersu promised to pay the accumulated debt for electricity", noted Guliyev.

Sumgayit was left without water for several hours yesterday.

It should be noted that Sumgayitelektrikshebeke has released a statement that on December 18 the electricity supply will be cut to the pumping stations of Azersu.

It is connected with the accumulated debt of AZN 46,416,101 of Azersu as of December 1 of 2008, while through 11 months of this year this amount made AZN 8,470,780.

Azersu and its objects have been repeatedly informed about the debts, but did not take any step.

In case the debt is not paid, Azersu will bear responsibility for all problems in the fresh and technical water supply of Baku and Sumgayit, as well as other regions of Azerbaijan.
