Woman injured in building blast in Azerbaijan’s capital dies in hospital

Burn center of Baku Hospital #5 told APA that Nureste Gurbanova, 69, died in hospital. Gurbanova reportedly died of serious burns. Gurbanova’s body was delivered to her relatives last night.

The five-storeyed building blasted in Nakhchicanski Street, 34, Nizami district on December 13. The blast destroyed two blocks of the building. 2 were killed and 6 injured in the aftermath of the blast. Gas leak in apartment No27 under repair supposedly caused the blast.

Baku Prosecutor’s Office has launched criminal case on the fact on article 222.2. (violation of safety rules during construction, negligence resulted in death) of the Criminal Code.
