Activity of Abu Bakr mosque not stopped

On Tuesday, Narimanov District Court held next proceeding on the Abu Bakr mosque re-opening suit raised by the Narimanov District Believers Community against the Narimanov District Police Office. Judge Turgay Huseynov chaired the court session where Narimanov Disctric Deputy Police Chief Akbar Ismayilov’s evidence was heard. Ismayilov said the Abu Bakr mosque’s activity was not stopped. He said the investigation of terrorist attack in the mosque was not completed yet and there was secret order about entrance-exit restrictions in the mosque. He refused to submit copy of that order to the court.

Representative of the believers community Elkhan Asadov didn’t agree with his evidence. The defendant side demanded to invite residents living nearby areas with the Abu Bakr mosque as witnesses to the court. The judge didn’t accept the Police Office’s request arguing that this issue has no relation to the trial.

The process will be continued on December 23.
