Nushirevan Meherremli: "Azerbaijani TV channels may not retransmit or lend their frequencies to other channels"

Meherremli noted that Azerbaijani television channels have no right to lend their frequencies to other television channels.

"Earlier AzTV retransmitted the Mir TV channel. This was stopped and Mir television channel was allowed to broadcast by the cable television. Only the issue of retransmission of "Voice of America" has not been settled before, while now this issue is solved", said he.

At the same time the chairman of the National Council noted that this ban is not related to separate programs, which local TV channels may take from foreign colleagues.

"Let's assume that someone buys a license for any program, demonstrated in foreign TV channels. He may use it both as his own production, without pointing at the logotype of a foreign TV channel", said Meherremli.
