Imprisoned journalist of Bizim Yol newspaper to be transferred to medical facility

Day.Az reports with reference to the Institute for Reporter Freedom and Safety that the due announcement was made by journalist's relative Cavidan Huseynov.

He said yesterday Mushvig Huseynov called home and said that he will be transferred to the medical facility due to the problems with health on November 1.

"Huseynov still has problems with health. He suffers from tuberculosis and he has serious problems with lungs. At the same time, he has severe pains in the chest", said Huseynov.

It should be noted that on January 21 of 2008 the Court of Grave Crimes sentenced Huseynov to 6 years in prison. Moreover, he is prohibited to engage in the journalism activity. Under the decision of the Appellate Court, the court reduced the term of imprisonment to Juseynov to five years.

The journalist was arrested by officials of the National Security Ministry on July 24 of the last year. Huseynov was charged under article 311.1 (bribery).
