Appeal with request to permit meeting with imprisoned journalists sent to Azerbaijan Justice Ministry

The Institute for Reporter Freedom and Safety has sent an appeal to Azerbaijan Fikret Mamedov with a request to allow meeting with the arrested correspondents, reports Day.Az with reference to the Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety.

Thus, the cause is the recent pressure on Azadlyg newspaper correspondent Mirza Sakit and editor-in-chief of Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper Eynulla Fatullayev.

"At the same time we want to familiarize with their detention conditions, state of health, problems of four imprisoned journalists. We ask you to allow us to meet with Mushvig Huseynov, Eynulla Fatullayev, Mirza Sakit and Ganimat Zahid and record the meeting on video and camera", says the appeal. Similar appeals have been sent to the Penitentiary system and public committee under the Ministry of Justice.
