Taisia Gordeyeva: "Agents of foreign special services have ordered the video tape and dishonoring of the Azerbaijani army"

I have always rejected that there are mass cases of humiliation of conscripts in the Azerbaijani army, but I have never said that there are separate negative facts of the kind, said human rights activist and deputy chairman of the Committee of Soldiers Mothers of Azerbaijan Taisia Gordeyeva.

She drew attention to some moments: when studying the first video tape, reportedly recorded in the billet, she paid attention to soldier's faces.

"It seems to me that this video tape is a smear order. It is clear that it takes place in the Azerbaijani army, but, anyway, this is an order.

I think some sergeants were paid by some people, perhaps, even the direct agents of foreign special services, for them to stage this and dishonor the Azerbaijani army. These bastards, using the criminal absence of control of the division by the officers and taking advantage of their power, executed the order and were arrested for this and I do hope they will be strictly punished", said she.

She said after studying the soldiers' faces again and again, seeing their smiles and their fear, one can see that this is a smear case and a shameful staging.

"Who has persuaded the sergeants, obviously lacking intellect, to arrange such a "game"? Why a person on the bed, is hit by a civil shoe? This is an order and in this connection I have sent a letter to the Ministry of National Security to Eldar Mahmudov and got an answer that work is carried out both on the video tape and on my letter".

She said there are no traditions of humiliation of conscripts by older soldiers like in the Russian army, because we, Azerbaijanis, are not so cruel. At the same time, she admitted that Azerbaijani army has many other shortcomings, including death and murder of servicemen, which are hidden under the mask of suicide, this is abuse of powers, though there is no humiliation of conscripts by older soldiers.

The investigation of such cases must be open and transparent, fully objective and in the result no one must be able to give a slap on soldier's face.

"Soldiers are not slaves. They defend their country. Mothers entrust them to the Defense Ministry for them to learn to defend the country with a gun in their hands", concluded Gordeyeva.
