Imprisoned journalist Mirza Sakit to be transferred to different jail

He said the meeting was attended by him, Saadat Bananyarli, Saida Gojamanly, Novella Jafaroghlu, Arzu Abdullayeva, Elchin Behbudov and Sahib Mamedov.

"During the meeting we discussed information about the brutal beating of Azadlyg newspaper correspondent Mirza Sakit. The Minister told us that officials of the Ministry, investigating the fact, have been sent to the jail, where the journalist is held", said Ganizade.

The human rights activist noted that they asked the minister to assist in transferring M.Sakit to another jail, as it is difficult for the relatives and close friends of the journalist to get to the correctional facility.

Minister of Justice Fikret Mamedov said Mirza Sakit will be transferred to another jail and promised to assist in this issue", said Ganizade.
