Number of skulls revealed in mass burials in Quba, Azerbaijan tops 200

The research works, carried in places, where remains were buried, may complete by the end of the year, said Gahraman Aghayev, head of the scientific expedition, conducting archaeological digs in Quba.
He said contour works in the holes finished and cleaning works are being conducted.

"Currently, the number of skulls, revealed in the mass burial in Quba, has topped 200. Most of them are of elderly men, women and children", said Aghayev.

He noted that it is currently difficult to say how many skulls there are in the holes.

"It will be possible to define the number of skulls in the holes in the near future. Before that we have worked in two ditches", noted Aghayev.
