Rules of accrediting bodies of legal assistance to foreigners in child adoption ratified in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers has ratified "Rules of accrediting bodies of legal assistance to foreigners and stateless persons in the sphere of intergovernmental adoption.
The press service for the Cabinet of Ministers told Day.Az that in line with the rules, accredited bodies may provide legal assistance to foreigners and stateless persons in the sphere of intergovernmental adoption in the territory of Azerbaijan.

The rules define order of accrediting bodies of legal assistance to foreigners and stateless persons on adoption of children, permanently residing in Azerbaijan, conditions of legal assistance in this sphere, ensure information of Azerbaijani state bodies about the life of adopted children and regulate the state control over the activity of legal entities, accredited in the sphere of intergovernmental adoption.

Under the document, the activity of the accredited bodies is noncommercial. Accreditation is issued for the term of two years. The central accreditation body is the state committee for problems of family, women and children.

The accredited bodies shall adhere to the Constitution of Azerbaijan, Hague Convention "On protection of children and cooperation in the sphere of intergovernmental adoption", these rules and other legislative acts of Azerbaijan.
