24 June 2008 [10:20] - TODAY.AZ
Yesterday, the family of editor-in-chief of Azadlyg newspaper Ganimat Zahid met him in correctional ward No 17.
Day.Az reports with reference to the Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety that the due announcement was made by journalist's wife Ayanda Mursaliyeva.

She said Zahid has no complaints about the detainment conditions and his treatment by the jail administration.

"There is still no information about manuscripts of my husband, he wrote in the investigation ward. The response to the appeal, sent by defender Rashid Hajili to chief of the Bail investigation ward, which says that the reporters' manuscripts were transferred to the penitentiary system, has been received", noted reporter's husband.

Mursaliyeva said they are currently waiting for the answer from the Penitentiary system of the Justice Ministry.

"If they do not return the manuscripts of my husband, we will appeal to the court", resumed Mursaliyeva.

It should be noted that chief of Bail investigation ward Misir Aliyev under pretense of reading took Zahid's manuscripts and has not returned them since present.
