Activist of movement for rights of South Azerbaijanis Asker Akperzade was arrested by Ettelaat officers in Ardebil on June 10, said a source from the South Azerbaijan Independence Party.
According to the source, the activist was detained in his house and carried to isolation ward, controlled by Ettelaat officers. A computer, camera, disks and different books were confiscated during the search.

Student of the chemistry faculty of the Ardebil university Asker Akperzade has been repeatedly arrested for participation in actions against the Iranian regime. Currently Akperzade is in the isolation ward and is subjected to torture.

It should be noted that in 2006 and 2007 the International conference on amnesty demanded the immediate release of Akperzade from the Iranian authorities.
