Azerbaijan's Supreme Court to consider appeal of Bizim yol newspaper correspondent Mushvig Huseynov

He said the case was transferred to judge Muzaffar Aghazade, but the date of the court hearing has not been defined yet.

The appeal states the need to pass a verdict of not guilty to the defendant.

It should be noted that on January 21 the Court of Grave Crime sentenced M.Huseynov to six years of imprisonment. Moreover, he is banned to engage in journalism for two years. The Appellate Court reduced the term to Huseynov down to five years.

The journalist was arrested by officials of the Ministry of National Security on July 24 of this year. Huseynov is charged under article 311.1 (bribery).
