He said the shutdown is due to financial problems.

"Paper has risen by AZN 150 in price since January until now. The publishing house raised communal expenses by 25%. Expenses for printing are also expected to rise", said Abbasoghlu.

He noted that they do not know whether the newspaper stopped operating fully or it will be weekly.

"If the newspaper becomes weekly, staff reduction is expected", resumed Abbasoghlu.

It should be noted that Gun Seher daily has been published since January of 2005.
