Impostor pretending to be National Security Ministry official arrested in Azerbaijan

He had been twice convicted for swindling, robbing and giving bribes, Public Affairs Center of National Security Ministry told APA. It was found out that Bakhshesh Ardashir pretended to be senior official of the National Security Ministry, Colonel Adil Bakhshliyev and swindled the citizens out of their properties saying he would employ them in government agencies.

In spring, 2005 Bakhshesh Ardashir met with Anar Shirinov and his father Sadagat Shirinov, with mediation of his acquaintance Agakarim Mirzayev, and agreed to employ Anar in the National Security Ministry in exchange for $12,000. Later he conducted fictitious psychological tests and told Anar Shirinov to give him the copies of relevant documents. In May, 2005, he met with Anar Shirinov and his uncle Elbrus Shirinov in a caf? in Baku and took the copies of the documents, certificate of higher education, military ID, identity card, foreign language certificates and two photos.

Then Bakhshesh Ardashir received 5 thousand US dollars from Elbrus Shirinov in the car driven by Agakarim Mirzayev to fix up Anar Shirinov for a job and agreed to receive 7 thousand dollars more after the employment.

Bakhshesh Ardashir was continually meeting with Anar Shirinov and promising him that his employment is on a way and he brought him to area near the National Security Ministry on the plea of test, medical check-up or meeting with the human resources officials of the Ministry and every time he postponed the meetings as if corresponding peoples called him and said the employment was prolonged.

Anti-Corruption Office of the General Prosecutor’s Office has launched a criminal case on the basis of article 178.2.4 of the Criminal Code (swindle) and article 310 (assignment of powers of the official) and Bakhshesh Ardashir has been arrested as a suspect. The National Security Ministry requests other peoples who suffered from the swindles and assignment of powers of official committed by Bakhshesh Ardashir to contact 405-99-99.
