Russian Embassy to Azerbaijan: "Contracts concluded on operating radar stations in the former USSR states will be strictly observed"

30 January 2008 [10:55] - TODAY.AZ
All contracts on operating the Gabala radar station in Azerbaijan by the aerospace forces of Russia will be strictly observed until 2012, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports with reference to Alexander Semenov, spokesman for Russian Embassy to Azerbaijan.

The due announcement was received in a response to the announcement of the commander of the aerospace forces of Russia Vadimir Popovkin, spread by a number of mass medias, which states that Russia cedes Garala radar station to Washington and may leave it in the near future.

"Russia's course on the gradual rejection to operate Soviet radar stations on the post-Soviet area and transfer to new radar stations on its own territory, will further continue. But the old contracts on operating radar stations in the former USSR states will be strictly observed", Semenov noted.
