Astara customs office tightens veterinary control due to ban of poultry import from Turkey

25 January 2008 [11:10] - TODAY.AZ
The quarantine and veterinary services of the Astara customs office tightened inspections due to the ban of import of poultry from Turkey.

According to the veterinary specialist of the Astara frontier veterinary service Osman Gambarov, in line with order No 27 of the Veterinary Service of January 18 of 2008, the control point has tightened inspections.

Each car, entering the country, is subject to disinfection.

Imported cargo passes customs points only after getting a certificate from the veterinary service.

It should be noted that the citizens of Azerbaijan, leaving for Turkey, have been told not to bring poultry products to Azerbaijan upon return. The citizens confirmed the fact.

The inspections will be carried out until the Head Veterinary Service annuls the order.
