Azeri officer killed in fire exchange at Iranian border

The due announcement was made by sources from the Azerbaijan State Frontier Service.

Thus, on January 17 a group of armed people tried to pass the border from Iran to Azerbaijan illegally, but were forced to retreat, owing to frontier guards, who were on their post at that time.

Despite the retreat, the trespassers closed with the counterattack, firing at G.Hashimov.

The wounded officer was immediately hospitalized, but died, despite all attempts to save him.
