The health of Vagif Huseynov, kept in Gobustan jail and included in the list of political prisoners by rights defenders and Keramet Kerimov, whose life sentence was commuted to 25-year imprisonment by President's pardon decree on March 19, deteriorated.

Prisoners' relatives told the APA that though Keramet Kerimov has pains in his heart and feels bad he was transferred to maximum-security prison.

Health of Vagif Huseynov deteriorated on April 26. The medical examination confirmed a heart attack but he is not being treated.

Alizade Huseynov, chief of Gobustan jail told the APA as there is no prisoner named Kerimov in their jail he can not say anything. The chief confirmed the fact on Huseynov’s state of health but refuted the reports about not treating him.

"He is in the cell along with Magsud Kerimov and is being examined and treated," he said.

Justice Ministry Penitentiary Service told the APA that Kerimov was transferred from Gobustan jail to detention place #8. The penitentiary service said they are unaware of his health problems.
