Supreme Court Working Group meeting finished

Ramiz Rzayev, Supreme Court Chairman addressing the meeting said works aimed at the adaptation of Azerbaijan court – juridical reforms to European standards have been done.

The meeting discussed recommendations by Working Group on the improvement of Criminal Code. Europe Council experts – Maria Valeria Del Tufo, Peter Hodgekinson, Sophie Kvasnyininin, Denis Bribosia, Council of Europe Secretary General's Special Representative to Azerbaijan commented on the recommendations by Working Group and presented their offers.

The experts discussed several articles of Criminal Code and introduced amendments, APA reports.

The Amendments to the Criminal Code are made according to the international conventions Azerbaijan accepted. The amendments to the Criminal Code took in to consideration "On protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms", "Convention on Children" and other international conventions.
