National Sciences Academy is to elect its president

According to the procedures, ANAS's president, Full Members and Corresponding Members will be elected by secret votes.

ANAS's press service department's head Aghahuseyn Shukurov told APA that Academy's president is elected every 5 year.

"The latest election for the ANAS's president post was held in July 2001. The current ANAS president Mahmoud Karimov was appointed by Azerbaijan president in January 4, 2003. The exact date of elections will be known one of these days."
