Russia to recognize Azeri diplomas

02 March 2007 [09:06] - TODAY.AZ
"My Azeri counterpart and me are concerned over the destiny of students, especially over the level of education. It should always be on the top," Russian minister of science and education Andrey Fursenko told reporters.

He stated that he is going to discuss activities for the improvement of education with Azerbaijani minister of education Misir Mardanov.

"I think we will reach an agreement on improvement of education in universities, as well as branches in both Azerbaijan and Russia. Students should get good education and not consider themselves deceived," he noted.

Touching the mutual recognition of diplomas, the minister mentioned that there is an agreement on the issue.

"Russia has implemented all necessary procedures for Azerbaijani university diplomas to be recognized in the country. Azerbaijan has also finished these procedures. Azeri students studying in Russia have all conditions as local students. But unfortunately, we are not always satisfied with such conditions. There are some problems in students' providing with good hostels. I think improvement of students' conditions is not nationality motivated. We create same conditions for Russian citizens and foreign students," he said, APA reports.
