Shahin Diniyev: "Rail Melikov not invited to the national squad"

"In result I gain extra weight and lose my sport form in the club," he said.

Rail stated that he won't play in the national squad as long as Shahin Diniyev coaches it.

Last time Rail Melikov played in the national team match against Kazakhstan in Baku in September last year. Though he was included in the lineup at the matches against Portugal and Belgium, he wasn't fielded. 22-year-old defender wasn't invited to the match with Uzbekistan on February 7.

Coach Shahin Diniyev told APA-Sport that he is a good player. But he didn't consider his refusal as a big loss.

"Besides, how Rail may refuse if he is not invited to the national squad," he said.
