Misir Merdanov: "Both high education and academic degree will be two-staged"

The law is satisfactory and will serve for the development of the education. Misir Merdanov said that both high education and academic degree will be two-staged, APA reports.

"Some say that the post-graduate course will be abolished. Two stages of the high education bachelor’s degree and master’s degree still remains. Academic degree means post-graduate course in the first stage and doctor's degree in the second. Main point remains though the names have been changed," the Minister said.

He said that a number of headmasters have been punished for negative actions in 2006. The works on the issue will be continued in 2007. Misir Merdanov also pointed out that it is necessary for bachelor's degree students to do their military service. He took a stance on the issue of the students of Azerbaijan Independent University.

"The Ministry will follow the decision of the court. Citizens should be careful not to face such negative incidents. The ministry will also take appropriate measures against the issue," he added.
