Mass death of poultries in Agjabadi

13 January 2007 [02:02] - TODAY.AZ
Mass death of poultries was observed in the village Garakhanli of Agjabadi.

Over 300 poultries died in the past two days.

The residents said that they threw the dead birds into the canal and have not appealed anywhere.

Mammad Javadov, official of Garakhanli Executive Power told the APA Karabakh bureau that though the information on mass death of birds spread in the village, the residents appealed neither to executive bodies, nor to veterinarian.

Confirming the fact of birds' death in the village chief of the veterinary department Irade Agayeva told the APA that this is not mass death.

Agayeva said they would gather the dead birds out of the canal, burn them and the place will be disinfected.

She said they will also take blood samples from the birds and send them to Republic Veterinary Laboratory.

Agayeva said they probably died of any disease typical of birds.

Press Secretary of the State Veterinary Service under Agriculture Ministry Yolchu Khanveli told the APA that they reviewed the place.

"Investigations show that it was not mass death, only 3-4 poultries died. The samples taken from the dead birds were sent to laboratory. The reasons of the birds' death will be made public after the examinations," he said.
