World Azerbaijanis Rights Defense Committee appealed to UN

Committee for Defense of Rights of World Azerbaijanis appealed to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, demanding to release from custody Abbas Lisan, one of the leaders of the movement for Azerbaijanis rights, arrested by Iranian law-enforcement agencies 2 months ago.

The appeal states that Lisan's arrest is politically-motivated and the judgments of the courts are unjust.

The Committee urged the UN High Commissioner to use all possible opportunities to realese him and prevent pressures on his family. APA
