Main State Traffic Police Office chief: "Proposals to tighten Traffic Regulations introduced to President's Office"

21 December 2006 [22:42] - TODAY.AZ
The proposals to tighten Traffic Regulations have been introduced to President's Office, said Main State Traffic Police Office chief Ramiz Zeynalov.

He told APA that the proposals have been approved after the discussion with Ramil Usubov. The proposals include increase of fines and assessment system.

"New system will be related to the overtaking in an unauthorized way," he said.

The number of police officers is few contrasted to that of people and transportation facilities.

"That leads to some problems in the roads. The issue will be considered in governmental level," he said. The new constructed bridges will prevent the traffic jam.

"There will be no traffic lights in these roads. Besides, the new bridges will be ecologically useful," he added.

As for the increase of excise tax on imported cars, Ramiz Zeynalov said that this will not reduce import as Azerbaijan is developing rapidly.
