238 illegal migrants have been detained in Azerbaijani territory since Interior Ministry Migration Service was founded.

97 of them have been deported, 102 were registered after being fined, IM Migration Service chief, colonel Shovgi Hadiyev told the APA.

The chief said that MS acts since May 15 of this year. Commenting that at present 19 foreign citizens are kept in investigation center of the MS, Hadiyev said that four of them are Pakistan citizens, two from Iran, one from India, five from Bangladesh, one from Georgia, three from Nigeria, one from Uzbekistan, one from Tunis and one from Vietnam.

"Vietnam citizen was brought to the center from detention ward of Justice Ministry. He was arrested because of committing crime and has served his punishment. He has no document and this cause some problems. We appealed to the embassies of Vietnam in Turkey and Russia asking to prepare necessary documents about him. They are feed three times a day, and they have cold-hot water, comfortable bed, and they are kept under the doctor's control. We are dissatisfied with them because they are living in Azerbaijan without any documents," he said.

The chief of the service told that, most of the illegal migrants are Pakistan citizens. 73 of the detainees are Pakistan citizens. Besides 37 Iranians, 31 Indians, and 17 Bangladesh citizens are kept in the detention wards. Hadiyev also said that the foreign prisoners will be handed over their country after they serve their punishment in Azerbaijan.

"We appeal to the embassies of the prisoners, and then extradite him to his country. At present four documents are underway. Those prisoners will finish to serve their punishment in January," he said.
