Education Minister urges school directors

Ten school directors were dismissed as the result of controls held in 42 Baku schools by Education Ministry, Education Minister Misir Mardanov told the journalists.

He said that the other school directors were also punished. "We dismissed those directors in the presence of all Baku school directors. I think that all directors will take considerable measures after this event," he said.

The minister also stated that they will continue punishing school directors. "We will continue to work with those who will carry out his professional duty. Those who will shirk of their responsibilities will be dismissed," he said.

Misir Mardanov also gave information about the project considering transition to card system at secondary schools. "To carry out this project is one of our wishes. We need investment for carrying out this project at Baku schools. That is why we still work on the project," he said.

The minister said that attendance check up at the universities has not completed yet. "We work with Azerbaijani teacher newspaper on this case and will continue to work. We will have talks with university rectors about winter-examination session. We had investigations and will inform them about the results during the meeting," he said, APA reports.
