First Lady becomes ISESCO ambassador

On Thursday the First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva received a title of ISESCO goodwill ambassador.

The education minister Misir Mardanov said that ISESCO had three goodwill ambassadors up today and all of them were statesmen. Saying that Mehriban Aliyeva had great services in the field of education and health, the minister added that 735 new school buildings were built within the last three years and the same number of schools was reconstructed. 300 of built schools were built by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Alt waiji presented the badge of goodwill ambassador to Mehriban Aliyeva and stated that she is the first lady to get this title.

Aliyeva thanked him for the given title, said that ISESCO did a lot within 24 years that it was founded.

She also noted that one of the most important directions of the organization is to protect the heritage of Islam history.

She stressed that hundreds of religious, historical, cultural monuments were destroyed by Armenians in the occupied territories.

Saying that over 180 new school buildings were built, 23 boarding-schools and children's home were reconstructed, a center was founded for weak-sighted people, Mugham Center was reconstructed in Baku and some religious temples were reconstructed by the support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Aliyeva added that a school building was built in Muzefferabad, Pakistan.
