Wanted 40 Azerbaijanis detained and handed over

The officers of State Border Services (SBS) prevented the violation of state borders on eight cases within October.

Nine Azerbaijani, two Iran, two Kazakhstan, two Pakistan, one Georgia citizens were detained on violation of border, 18 people were detained on violation of border rules.

Wanted 40 people were handed over to Azerbaijani law enforcement bodies. Smuggling of 514qr heroin was prevented during last month. 38 people were detained because of missing needed documents; two Bangladesh and one Azerbaijani citizen were detained because of false document.

One Turkmenistan citizen was detained while crossing Azerbaijani border on Nakhchivan ferry-boat hidden in one of the empty wagons. 10 people were detained as if suspect, 15 as if unwished persons. Appropriate measures were taken about the people who did not have visas-nine Iran, eight Turkey, five Philippine, four France, two Nigeria, two India, one Oman, one Guinea, one USA, one Thailand, one Morocco, one Uzbekistan, one South Africa Republic, one Trinidad and Tobago citizens.

Illegal smuggling of 102 boxes of different cigarettes, 121 mobile phones, 140 tinned food, 300kg sturgeon, 10 tonnes of potato, and other products and industrial products was prevented, APA reports.
