Rovshan Agayev: "I heard about Rovshan Aliyev's murder from Haji Mammadov's sister"

Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of the Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

Fikret Mirzayev, lawyer for Rovshan Agayev solicited the judge that his client gave testimony under pressure. He demanded to remove Agayev's testimonies from the list of evidences. The court did not meet his solicitation.

Then the defendant answered the questions of public prosecutor Abdulla Yusifov and Adil Ismayilov, a lawyer for Zakir Nasirov. They said there are controversial points in his testimony to the court and investigation. The judge met their solicitation.

Agayev said he does not remember his testimonies about criminalist Rovshan Aliyev and Azer Ismayilov. He said that he heard about Aliyev's murder from Arifa Javadova, Haji Mammadov's sister.

Then Adalet Asadullayev gave testimony on the accusations. He said he underwent torture and was made to confess the crimes he did not committed. Asadullayev said he appealed to National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov, Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov and Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, but they did not meet his appeal.

The trial will continue on October 10, APA reports.
