Azeri Prosecutor not to allow Aliyev brothers' U.S. lawyer to participate in trial

"The Prosecutor's Office has not received any appeal from an American lawyer for Farhad Aliyev. I heard about this on Friday," Azerbaijani Prosecutor-General Zakir Garalov told journalists.

He said Farhad Aliyev can have any lawyer he wants, but foreign lawyers cannot be involved in Azerbaijani trials according to our legislation. "It is possible if foreign lawyers sit examination in the Bar. But they do not do this."

The Prosecutor-General noted that three lawyers defend Farhad Aliyev's rights. "They should bear in mind that a foreign lawyer will not influence investigation," he said, APA reports.
