Azerbaijan was represented in photo and film nominations in Batumi film festival titled "Caucasus is our common house" on September 14-17.

The festival participants held a press conference in Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union. Shamil Nejefzadeh said presented four document and two feature films to the festival. They are "Sari Gelin" by Yaver Rzayev, "The Sound of Silence" by Igbal Mammadyarov, "Cross" by Yusif Guliyev, "Steps" by Gunel Nejefzadeh, "The six-month" by Mirsadig Aghazadeh.

"There were three countries in the festival: Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. Azerbaijan films were displayed in opening and closing ceremonies. The most interesting was that Armenians rose in applause for Azerbaijani films. Our films moved some of them to tears. They also pretended to Karabakh villages where "Sari Gelin" was shot and the music. We let them know that these places belong to Azerbaijan," Yusif Guliyev said.

Film director Igbal Mammadayrov said that Armenians could not precede us. "We preceded Armenia though we were presented in two nominations only. Festival participants stated the development of Azerbaijan culture," he said.

21-year-old Orkhan Aslanzadeh represented Azerbaijan in photo nomination with 26 photos, APA reports.
