Students stage protest action outside President's Office

19 September 2006 [15:45] - TODAY.AZ
The sophomore students of the private Independent Azerbaijan University, which was banned by the Education Ministry, staged protest action outside the President's Palace for restoring their rights for receiving education.

One of the students asked for any official to receive them. Education Minister Misir Mardanov was interested in the students' problems.

He said the ministry will try to transfer the students to other universities.

"Give me the list of the second-year students. I will contact you. Though the university administration made a great mistake, the ministry will transfer the students to other universities till October," the Minister said.

The protesting students dispersed by the Minister's insistence, APA reports.
