Jury not to be created in Azerbaijan in near future

Lawyer Isakhan Ashurov told that parliament is expected to discuss this issue and adopted a new document. According to the lawyer, the material and technical base of courts do not ensure the creation of this institution.

Considering Jury as progress in juridical system, Ashurov thinks activity of such court can give positive results. "Jury ensures equality of complainants."

Supreme Court judge Ogtay Magsudov thinks it is impossible to create this institution in Azerbaijan in near future. He told the APA it is very difficult to choose Jury members.

"The Jury members should not bear relationships with one another, with defendants and judges. But it is impossible in our country," the judge underlined.

Magsudov thinks Jury is an indication of democracy in a country. However, he said it cannot be possible created in Azerbaijan in near future.

Jury's participate in trials is mentioned in the Procedural Code, APA reports.
