Two Azeri women jailed for forcing 14-year-old girl into prostitution in Dubai

The Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday sentenced the two Azerbaijan women, S.E. 35, and C.E., 41 to two years in jail for forcing a juvenile into prostitution. They will later be deported.

Meanwhile, three UAE nationals were tried for kidnapping and raping the girl and asking for a Dh5,000 ransom.

Dubai Juvenile Court had questioned the 14-year-old Azerbaijani girl Z.E. after discovering she had been working in the sex industry, she was deported in April.

The three nationals, identified as I.A., 34, F.M. 19, and M.G., 20, were charged with kidnapping the girl, raping her and asking for a ransom. They were sentenced to two years in jail , I.A. got a further two months for asking for a ransom.

The Dubai Court of First Instance had heard that Z.E. had called S.E. and claimed the men had kidnapped and raped her on a roof. One of them spoke with her over the phone and asked for Dh5,000 ransom if she wanted the girl back.

S.E. claimed she could not pay the money, but she was told "that others usually pay Dh20,000 if their relatives got kidnapped".

S.E. cooperated with the police to set a trap to arrest the suspects.

In his police statement I.A. claimed S.E. had arranged the 14-year-old for him and his friends so they could "have sex with her". The three nationals claimed the two women worked in the sex industry.

S.E. called Z.E. and asked her to return but the three men said they had been promised they could spend the night with her. S.E. insisted they return the girl, but I.A. confessed he told her "if she wanted the girl she should give him Dh5,000."
