49 Azerbaijanis evacuated from Lebanon so far

He said our compatriots were mainly sent to Syria, Dubai and Turkey.

Ten more Azerbaijanis were evacuated to Syria yesterday. The consulate is planning to send some to Russia as well, APA reports.

Mr. Gassub said Palestinians are facing problems in fleeing to Syria adding this does not concern Lebanese people as well as Azerbaijani refugees from Lebanon.

"We cannot contact more Azerbaijanis due to disorder in telecommunications and most Azerbaijanis are unaware of the honorary consulate. Despite all these problems, the consulate is making all efforts to help Azerbaijanis," the honorary consul said.

He also expressed serious concern over the current tense situation in Lebanon, "Israeli bombardments are ruining the country. We cannot sleep at nights because of feeling of fear. Thanks to God, we are still alive."
