WHO two epidemiologists visiting Azerbaijan

The World Health Organization will send two more epidemiologists to Azerbaijan to support the country in fighting avian flu.

As APA reports, the WHO representative office in Azerbaijan informed that the WHO epidemiologist Carmen Pesoa de Sivva will arrive in Azerbaijan tonight. During her two-week stay in the country she will give trainings to local epidemiologists in Baku and several other regions on how to take epidemiological control.

Another WHO epidemiologist Sam Yangts will arrive in Azerbaijan tomorrow. He will assist in improving conditions of laboratories for treatment of avian flu.

Several WHO specialists, who have been in Azerbaijan to support the government and the Health Ministry, have ended their mission. The head of the WHO mission Carolina Brawn, specialists Simon Marder, Willy Pimental will leave the country March 29, Naomi Boksal, Andreas Gilsdorf March 31 and Dragan Yankovich will leave April 2.
