Prosecutor General's Office holds workshop for journalists

On Friday the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office jointly with the Azerbaijani Media Council held a workshop for journalists, covering legal field in media. The goal of the workshop is to expand the cooperation between the Prosecutor Office and media.

As Trend reports, Eldar Nuriyev, the First Deputy Prosecutor General, said that the workshop was held at the recommendations by Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani President, on ensuring of freedom of information in the country. The event is one of the numerous workshops conducted by the Prosecutor Office recently.

"The workshop will play an important part in ensuring of development of relations and mutual cooperation," he added.

The participants of the event heard the reports by Kamal Amirkhanov, the Prosecutor of the Legal Provision Department, Munis Abuzarli, the Prosecutor of the Department for Defense of Government Case, Tahir Ismayilov, the Prosecutor of the Department for Control over Execution of Investigative, Operational and Search Activities of the Internal Affairs Ministry. The reports concerned crimes hindering professional activities of journalists and imprisonments.

Journalists exchanged opinions and shared their views after the reports.

Around 60 media representatives participated in the workshop.
