Bird flu in Gakh

Some wild ducks thought to be infected with Bird flu were found in Gakh region of Azerbaijan.

As APA reports, samples were taken from wild birds around the Alazan (Ganikh) river and the Ajinohur Lake and sent to the Main Veterinary Station of Republic (MVSR).

The head physician of the region Veterinary Station (VS) Nadir Ashurov told that some suspected wild ducks and other wild birds were delivered to the region VS.

"We have sent samples of the birds to the laboratory of the MVSR for test," said the head physician. He also added that the results of the test will be announced after a month.

The chief of the Ecology and Environment Protection Office #9 (EEPO) Zakir Aliyev said that the EEPO did not participate in the monitoring of Bird flu in Gakh.

According to him, associates of the Ilisu State Nature Reserve delivered four wild pigeons and two more wild birds to the region VS. Zakir Aliyev also added that the birds have no suspected symptoms.
