Azeris in Canada commemorated Khojaly genocide

An event on 14th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy was held at the Mariott hotel in Montreal city of Canada.

At the event attended by the Azerbaijani ambassador to Canada Fakhraddin Gurbanov, head of the Association of Azeris living in Quebec Masud Aliyev and other Azeris living in Canada, Khojaly martyrs were commemorated with one-minute silence.

The ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov speaking at the event noted the importance for Azeris living in Canada to carry out work to inform the world's society about Armenian vandalism committed in our lands. The executive director of the Association of Azeris living in Canada Akbar Majidov said that postcards prepared on the Khojaly tragedy were sent to the Canadian parliament and government authorities.

Saleh Ildirim who spoke at the event stressed that he supports placing of a picket by all organizations representing the Azeri community in front of the Armenian embassy on March 31.

A book called "Forgotten genocide" written by our compatriot, US citizen Felix Sersvadze, demonstrating the genocide in pictures was also presented at the meeting.
